The new Virgin Racing car appears to be on schedule for its first test in February. Technical director Nick Wirth has confirmed that it will not be tested in a wind tunnel before this event. Wirth has been a pioneer in fluid technology and is convinced that the car is now advanced enough not to require wind tunnel testing.
His company, Wirth Research, has already produced cars using this fluid dynamics system, such as the Acura LMP1 in the Le Mans Series category and the LMP2 prototypes.
