The reigning world champion Jenson Button has officially started his service at McLaren. He has indeed visited the Woking factory for a first look at his new team. His contractual obligations with his former team Brawn GP prevented him from properly working with McLaren before the end of 2009.
But since January 1, 2010, Button is now an official McLaren driver. The team has also released the first photo of him with the British team.
The team’s Twitter account shows an exclusive image of Button in Woking. The team also broadcasts a video message from the reigning champion.
Button explains: « Hi everyone, and happy new year. It’s a real pleasure to be part of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team and I look forward to working with you all in 2010. »
The former Brawn driver is currently on vacation in Hawaii and is scheduled to make his first public appearance of the year 2010 at the Autosport International Show at the end of the month.
