The BMW-Sauber team announced its new management structure following the purchase of the team by Peter Sauber at the end of last year. Sauber himself is now the new chairman of the board and will lead operations from the Hinwil base.
Monisha Kaltenborn, who had held the position of director of legal affairs since 1998, will be the new general director of the Hinwil team.
The son of Sauber, Alex is now responsible for the team’s marketing activities. The 36-year-old has worked in Swiss professional football for the past two years with Neue Grasshopper Fussball AG.
The technical director, Willy Rampf, will be responsible for the technical side of the team, while Urs Jampen returns to his position as financial director after an 18-month absence. Finally, Jurg Flach has been appointed director of operations with overall responsibility for production.
« Formula 1 is constantly evolving, » said Sauber. « This sharing of responsibilities not only meets the demands of the sport but also refreshes things within the team. I keep myself informed of all major developments, but I will leave operational matters to the Hinwil factory. »
