Force India will join Red Bull Racing in missing the first pre-season Formula 1 tests that will take place in Valencia next month. The team based in Silverstone will not operate its new car, the VJM3, before the Jerez tests that will begin on February 10.
One of the team’s two drivers, Adrian Sutil, stated on the Formula 1 website that the team had decided to delay the introduction of its car so that it could have more time to develop it. This is a tactic similar to the one adopted by Red Bull Racing.
« The whole team is working hard to develop the best possible car and it looks very, very promising at the moment, » explains the German.
« It’s certain that the new rules represent a big challenge for everyone. To make an initial assessment on the proper interpretation of these new regulations, we will have to wait for the first tests in Jerez, where I will drive the VJM3 for the first time. »
