As we announced a few weeks ago, the Briton is taking over from Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, whose one-year term ended last month. The director of the Scuderia Ferrari, Stefano Domenicali, has been elected vice-president of the Formula One Team Association.

According to a FOTA press release: « All members thanked Luca di Montezemolo for his valuable leadership and remarkable contribution in establishing FOTA in 2009. He greatly contributed to making this first year a success. »
« The teams represented by FOTA now eagerly look forward to working with Martin Whitmarsh to continue the development of Formula 1 activities in the long term, in collaboration with all other stakeholders. »
