Kimi Räikkönen will wait until the middle of the year before deciding whether or not he will return to Formula 1. The former world champion signed for a season in the World Rally Championship after not finding a worthy F1 seat for 2010. He has hinted that he might never return to Grand Prix racing.
However, speaking to Autosprint magazine, Räikkönen claims that nothing is settled regarding his future and that F1 remains close to his heart: «I have always been interested in WRC racing, and at one point in my career, I saw this opportunity arise thanks to Red Bull. So, why not? »
Asked about his plans for after 2010, Räikkönen said: « The doors to F1 are still open. I have devoted nine years of my life to this series, and I have some very good memories. I will make a decision mid-year. Either I will decide to stay in Rally, or I will return to F1 Grand Prix. »
