The Campos Meta F1 team has admitted the possibility of not taking part in any pre-season testing sessions but insists it will participate in the opening race in Bahrain. The Spanish team has only signed one driver, Bruno Senna. The collaboration with Dallara allowed them to successfully pass the final FIA crash test last week, but concerns remain about the team’s financial stability. Additionally, it is still seeking investors.

« Bahrain will be a challenge for us, it won’t be a first race, » affirmed Daniel Eisen, the team’s strategist, to the Associated Press. « The cars are very advanced, we have a driver under contract and our intention is to be in Bahrain for the first race. Everyone is worried and it’s logical because the season is long and we are new. But, we want to be present with the best, especially with the cars. »

« It’s no secret, we are in negotiations with investors and sponsors, particularly on an international scale. But everything is proceeding according to the planned schedule. »

Eisen denied that Bruno Senna’s arrival was solely based on money: « Bruno didn’t come as just cash, and that’s important. We have always wanted him from the start. Yes, he provides financial support, but our goal is to be ready. We must not compromise the cars in any way. »

The team also admitted that it might announce its second driver only on the eve of the Bahrain race.
