The weather has been very variable today in Jerez with a succession of showers. The track dried up at times, and the Renault team was able to do runs on slick tires and rain tires.
Vitaly Petrov, race driver on this first day, stated: « We experienced another rainy day today in Jerez. The track conditions were constantly changing, making the learning work quite difficult. I hope the weather will be better tomorrow so that we can cover as many kilometers as possible. »
Alan Permane, Chief Engineer added: « The day was frustrating, especially for Vitaly who hasn’t been able to complete a large number of runs on a dry track yet. The track was wet for a large part of the day and the work completed could have been more constructive. »
