A few showers in the first part of the day limited Vitaly’s running time this morning, but the track conditions this afternoon were good, and the team was able to work on qualifying session simulations and completed a good number of long runs.
Vitaly Petrov, race driver, stated: « We lost some track time due to the rain this morning, but fortunately, the track was dry this afternoon. Our technical program was packed because it was my last day of work driving the R30 before Bahrain. We worked well and I find that we have improved the car quite a bit. The qualifying session simulations done today were very useful; it was important to do this exercise before the first race. »
Alan Permane, Chief Engineer added: « The work day was better for Vitaly today. We encountered some small issues this morning related to those we had yesterday but we quickly overcame them and Vitaly was satisfied with the car before noon. Unfortunately, it rained a bit this morning but we did good work this afternoon with different fuel loads. Vitaly ends the day satisfied with the car. It would have been even better if we could have done a few more runs but we are happy to have accomplished a good day of work. »
