Anthony Hamilton has received official approval from Bernie Ecclestone and Formula One Management to open his Young Driver Academy. This approval was essential for the use of the Formula 1 name.
GP Prep is therefore the official name of this Academy and is an initiative aimed at giving young Formula 1 drivers experience with single-seaters. This program will be in effect during a series of tests that will allow rookies to gain track time in a Formula 1 car.
« I am extremely happy that Mr. Ecclestone and Formula One Management have given us their official approval for the opening of this Formula 1 driver development Academy, » said Hamilton.
« I would like to thank Mr. Ecclestone and the FOM for their support and remarkable vision for the future of the Academy and the benefits it will bring to Formula 1 and other racing series. We look forward to working closely with Formula 1 and especially with all the rookies to help them identify themselves, develop, and nurture great talent. All this will bring a new world of possibilities to the pinnacle of motorsport, » concluded the Briton.
