Ticket sales for the Spanish Grand Prix are up 10% compared to last year. General admission tickets have already sold out three weeks before the event.
« The sales pace is good nonstop, » said the general manager of the Barcelona circuit, Ramon Praderas. « The General Admission area and the most popular stands are full, but there are still tickets available for the remaining stands. »
« If the pace continues like this, we will be able to achieve good attendance figures, although we will not reach those of the record year (2007). »
The circuit states that it does not plan to increase capacity in the general admission area, which can hold around 30,000 spectators. The second pre-sale period in February ended with 53,000 tickets sold.
