Vitantonio Liuzzi returns to service at HRT

Dropped by Force India despite having a valid contract for the 2011 season and not selected by Lotus Renault GP to replace Robert Kubica, Vitantonio Liuzzi could make a comeback with HRT, for whom the Italian driver is participating in the Barcelona tests.
It must be said that the modest Spanish team is the only one not to have officially named its second driver, as it seems difficult to find another driver capable of bringing between eight and ten million euros, as Narain Karthikeyan was able to do with the support of Tata.
In the absence of being able to attract a driver capable of ensuring its financial future, she could therefore take a driver with a wealth of Grand Prix experience (63 races under his belt with three different teams: Red Bull, Toro Rosso, and Force India), as Colin Kolles, the team’s sporting director, says: «As always, our goal is to have the best possible package. Tonio is a very serious candidate for our second seat thanks to his experience in Formula 1. We hope his feedback and technical insights will help the team progress in the right direction.»
If the Italian driver claims that the team has the potential to progress (how could it be otherwise…), he might find a new opportunity to race in Grand Prix, as his future in the category seems somewhat blocked if he doesn’t capitalize on his chance with HRT.
