Kubica has left intensive care: report with his doctor
Lotus Renault GP provides an update on Robert Kubica's health condition, about ten days after his terrible accident at the Rallye Ronde di Andorra in Italy.

The Polish driver had struck a metal safety barrier on the roadside, causing it to bend and split in two – piercing and passing through the driver’s car all the way to the trunk.
The Polish driver was urgently taken to the hospital in a serious condition with several fractures and a right hand in poor condition. After three operations, the outcome is positive, and even if the pilot’s career is not yet assured, his life is no longer in danger.
Dr. Rossello, can you give us an update on Robert’s health today?
I saw him this morning [Tuesday] around 8:30. He is doing well and his condition is reassuring after what he went through. The good news is that there were no complications following the surgeries.
You operated on his hand. Can you provide details about this?
He can move his fingers a little and has already regained some of the sensation in his hand. A very important point is the absence of any signs of infection, which generally causes problems.
Last week, he was transferred from intensive care to the rehabilitation department. How can this be interpreted?
He no longer needs intensive care, so he can begin his rehabilitation process. He is now in a large private room to ensure maximum comfort. He has started some small hand exercises, slightly bending his fingers.
How is his state of mind?
He is no longer in pain, and his psychological state is good. He is obviously eager to start the rehabilitation program as soon as possible.
How long will he stay in rehabilitation services?
Difficult to say. In the coming days, he will stay there so that we can monitor his condition. During this period, there is still a possibility of infection or other complications. Therefore, we change the dressings on his hand every day. After two weeks, we will decide on his next step.
