Bahrain tests: Nick Yelloly joins Hilmer Motorsport

Nick Yelloly has signed a provisional contract with the Hilmer Motorsport team where he will begin preseason testing in GP2 at the Bahrain circuit. The English driver was recently linked to the Jota Sport team, with which he could have competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2.

However, the agreement did not hold, Jota Sport had issued a statement explaining: « There are contradictory elements and commitments that have been stated; it’s best that we part ways with immediate effect. »

That’s why Hilmer Motorsport announced that Yelloly will test one of its cars. The English driver expressed himself on the German team’s website: First, I would like to thank Franz Hilmer for reaching out to me and giving me the opportunity to test a GP2.

He continues on what I represent this opportunity: « It’s a great opportunity and I look forward to jumping in the car on Wednesday and working with the whole team. It will be the first time I will drive a GP2 and on the Bahrain circuit as well. But I’m sure that after a few laps, I’ll be able to be fast and have a very productive test with the team. »

As a reminder, the Hilmer team has still not announced its two drivers for next season.
