Bahrain – EL: King leads the dance

Racing Engineering had a perfect session for the launch of the 11th season at the Bahrain circuit. Rookie Jordan King set the fastest time at 1:42.441, narrowly beating his teammate Alexander Rossi (+0.01s).

The first free practice sessions of the GP2 season went quite well for the entire field, except for Stoffel Vandoorne, who was forced to stop on track at the third corner. One of the favorites for the title will therefore have his work cut out for him to secure valuable points against the competition.

If the Racing Engineering duo stood out, Alex Lynn confirmed all the potential we had glimpsed during the winter. The latest GP3 champion posted the third fastest time ahead of Vandoorne, who still performed well despite his technical issues.

The Frenchman Arthur Pic is fifth ahead of Rio Haryanto, Pierre Gasly, Mitch Evans, Raffaele Marciello, and Nobuharu Matsushita. Among the other Frenchmen, Norman Nato is 14th while Nathanaël Berthon only managed to secure the 19th fastest time.
