Oliver Rowland will make a GP2 appearance at Silverstone
Even though he is involved in Formula Renault 3.5, Oliver Rowland will compete in a GP2 race weekend at Silverstone, in front of his home crowd.

The Briton is having a dream start to the season in Formula Renault 3.5 as he has already secured three victories and two additional podiums. Nevertheless, this doesn’t stop him from showing interest in the other ideal promotion formula before F1, GP2.
Thus, with the support of the RSF foundation, he managed to reach an agreement with MP Motorsport to participate in the Silverstone weekend. This foundation aims to promote young British drivers, as it has done in the past for drivers like James Calado.
For the organizers, it can only be good news to have one more British driver on the grid. Thus Derek Warwick, the director of the BRDC, which owns the circuit, stated: « I am delighted that RSF and MP Motorsport have managed to reach a last-minute agreement. I am a big fan of Oliver and am thrilled for the opportunity given to him to show British supporters what he is capable of. We are expecting a record crowd of 140,000 people for this weekend. Having another British driver on the grid is therefore excellent news for the BRDC and Silverstone. »
This will allow the team to field two cars, which had not been possible during the Austrian weekend.
