Penalties for Arthur Pic and Oliver Rowland
Penalties were issued at the end of GP2 Race 1: Arthur Pic received a 20-second penalty while Oliver Rowland was given a five-second penalty.

The GP2 Race 1 at Silverstone was marked by the collision in the last corner between Jordan King and Arthur Pic, which led to the former’s retirement. Nevertheless, the French driver was given a drive-through penalty, which was converted into 20 seconds added to his time, dropping him from 6th to 14th place.
As for Oliver Rowland, he was penalized for repeatedly going too wide at turn 9. Similar to F1, the GP2 stewards decided to apply a zero-tolerance policy. This resulted in an additional five seconds being added. Consequently, instead of finishing 9th, he ended up in 10th place.
This series of penalties makes someone happy, Rio Haryanto. Indeed, the Indonesian moves up to 8th place, which allows him to start in pole position for the second race and thus opens up great opportunities for him.
