Maini, Ferrucci, Nissany, Latifi, Albon, the latest news in F2 before Bahrain
The 2018 F2 season, which will see the arrival of a brand new single-seater, begins this weekend alongside Formula 1 in Bahrain. A quick look at the latest information to remember in the discipline.

As the new F2 car built by Dallara will make its competition debut this weekend, it’s time to take a final look at the latest developments in the Formula 1 feeder series.
The 20-year-old Indian driver Arjun Maini will keep his position as a development driver at Haas in F1 for this season after joining the team last year. Maini will make his debut this season as a full-time driver in F2 after two years in GP3. His 2017 season was marked by a victory and a podium finish.
Same goes for 19-year-old American driver Santino Ferrucci who will continue as a development driver within the American team. He will take part in his first full campaign in F2 after five race weekends last year. Ferrucci had started his 2017 season in GP3 for a second year.
The 23-year-old Israeli driver Roy Nissany signed a contract with the Campos team to compete the entire 2018 F2 season. He will race alongside Luca Ghiotto within the Spanish team. Nissany competed last year in Formula V8 3.5 with five podiums and one victory, finishing fifth in the championship. This 2018 season will be his first in Formula 2.
Canadian driver Nicholas Latifi, 22, has been confirmed by the DAMS team as a regular driver for the entire 2018 season. The Force India reserve and development driver will therefore compete in his third year in the discipline with the French team. His 2017 season was actually his best year in motorsport, since his fifth place in the British F3 in 2013, with eight podium finishes and a victory at Silverstone in race 2, resulting in a fifth place in the championship.
The 22-year-old Thai driver Alexander Albon has only been confirmed as a DAMS driver for the first round in Bahrain. The GP3 2016 runner-up spent the entire previous season in F2 with ART Grand Prix team, securing two podium finishes and a tenth place in the championship. It is quite possible that his contract will be extended, but it will likely depend on the opportunities available to the team based in Le Mans.
