Saudi Arabia Grand Prix F2 – Race 2 – Victory for Oscar Piastri!
Oscar Piastri wins again this season in this sprint race 2. The Australian driver is ahead of an excellent Bent Viscaal and his teammate Robert Shwartzman!

What a race again today in F2 in Jeddah!
Jehan Daruvala started from pole position following his tenth place in this morning’s race 1. He manages to keep the lead of the race at the first corner.
But there is a serious mess at the back of the pack with the withdrawal of French Clément Novalak and race 1 winner Marcus Armstrong. The safety car is out. At the restart, Juri Vips misses and touches the right rear tire of Felipe Drugovich and has to retire. The Safety Car is out again.
On the restart, Jehan Daruvala misses the first turn and cuts the chicane. He still comes out in front of Oscar Piastri. He will be penalized by five seconds at the end of the race for gaining an advantage.
Christian Lundgaard, the ART driver, will receive the same penalty for cutting a chicane.
In the meantime, Oscar Piastri was able to overtake Jehan Daruvala on the track.
Four laps before the end, it’s Liam Lawson, having a tough season, who hits the wall hard.
The arrival will be under the Safety Car… Bad luck for penalized Jehan Daruvala and Christian Lundgaard who lose their podium and finish fourteenth and fifteenth respectively… surely unfair penalties.
Another victory for Oscar Piastri who extends his lead in the championship! Bent Viscaal, author of an excellent race, finishes in second place. The second Prema driver, Robert Shwartzman, finishes in third place and takes back the second position in the championship.
Guanyu Zhou finished in eighth place.
First points for Doohan who starts this weekend, the vice champion F3 2021 finishes in a nice fifth place. The same for Enzo Fittipaldi in seventh place.
On the French side, Clément Novalak retired at the first corner of the first lap. Théo Pourchaire, who started from the back of the grid following his accident at noon, finished in an excellent sixth place! What a comeback from the French driver!
See you tomorrow afternoon for the main race, with Oscar Piastri in pole position and Théo Pourchaire in third place!
