Dams sold to Charles Pic!
Former GP2 and F1 driver, Frenchman Charles Pic has reached an agreement with the Driot family for the takeover of the legendary French team Dams, based in Le Mans.

Following the death of Jean Paul Driot in 2019, the management was entrusted to his sons, Grégory and Olivier Driot.
The Frenchman Charles Pic has therefore reached an agreement with the two brothers to take over the management of the Mancelle team. François Sicard will remain the general manager of the team.
Here are the first statements from the new owner:
Charles Pic: « I am very happy to be able to write a new chapter in the DAMS adventure. Our two families have long appreciated each other. Jean-Paul knew my grandfather, who supported several DAMS drivers in the past, including my godfather Éric Bernard and Olivier Panis. My passion for car racing has not changed, and this acquisition is a long-term project. I am convinced that DAMS can be successful on and off the track. I am excited to see what we will accomplish with François, Rémi, and all the members of the team. »
The Dams team, created in 1988, is now one of the most legendary teams in F2. It has achieved 41 victories in GP2/F2! It has also fostered many popular drivers who are successful today such as Romain Grosjean, Jérôme D’Ambrosio, Kamui Kobayashi, Pierre Gasly…
In 2022, the team will be well represented with Israeli driver Roy Nissany and Japanese driver Ayumu Iwasa on board.
It should be noted that the team is also present in Formula E under the name E DAMS since 2014.
