Formula 2 – Pole position for Juri Vips!
First qualifying session for Formula 2 here at the Imola circuit. Estonian driver Juri Vips secures his first pole position in Formula 2!

The qualifications started at 7:10 pm following all the red flags accumulated during the Formula 1 qualifying session.
On his first stint, the Estonian Juri Vips set the fastest time before the English driver from Campos, Olli Caldwell, crashed his car into the wall, causing another red flag.
Once the car is evacuated, the other 21 drivers go back to the timed attack on a still wet track and with the sunset.
As time went by, the track started to dry up and lap times were seriously dropping.
In this game, it’s Juri Vips, the Estonian from Hitech GP, who is doing the best by getting his first pole position in 1’40″221, ahead of Ayumu Iwasa (+0.157) and Jack Doohan (+0.210).
Théo Pourchaire secures seventh place (+0.641) and Clément Novalak sets the thirteenth time (+0.952).
Great performance for the rookie Denis Hauger with the fifth fastest time!
Felipe Drugovich and Liam Lawson (first and second in the championship) do not perform better than twelfth and fourteenth.
Logan Sargeant, Carlin’s driver, will start from pole position with the inverted grid in tomorrow’s sprint race!
