The American secures his first pole position in Formula 2 with a time of 1.38.432. He finishes ahead of another rookie, Frederik Vesti (+0.107). Felipe Drugovich, the championship leader, sets the third fastest time (+0.121).
Théo Pourchaire achieves the fourth fastest time (the same to the thousandth of a second as his championship rival Felipe Drugovich, but achieved after him).
Clément Novalak, the other French driver, will start from 18th place in both races this weekend.
Jehan Daruvala will start in pole position for tomorrow’s sprint race.
