Austrian Grand Prix – Richard Verschoor victorious, Théo Pourchaire unlucky
Richard Verschoor, who started from eighth place, won the main race today. Jehan Daruvala finishes second ahead of Logan Sargeant.

Despite a somewhat boring second half of the race, we had an incredible start to the race!
The Spielberg circuit track was drying. Half of the grid started on wet tires, while the other half started on dry tires.
On the first two laps, Théo Pourchaire climbed up to the sixth position with his wet tires.
Unfortunately, the Safety car is out following Marcus Armstrong’s retirement (winner of yesterday’s sprint race). Unfortunately, there is a two-lap pit stop restriction after the Safety Car. All the drivers on wet tires are dropping down the rankings and have to stop at the pits. Théo Pourchaire had to stop and is stuck at his pit stop while letting the drivers pass in the pit lane… He comes out at the back of the race pack.
The bet on slick tires was the right one! Richard Verschoor climbed from eighth place to the lead of the race and never let go until the checkered flag. He pockets his second victory this season.
Roberto Merhi, who was called up last minute, finishes in second place. However, he receives a 5-second penalty for track limit violations. Logan Sargeant completes the podium.
Théo Pourchaire once again unlucky, finishes in fourteenth position… We are not entitled to happiness in France in Formula 2.
Note the French double this morning in Formula 3 with the victory of Isack Hadjar and Victor Martins.
See you in 2 weeks … at home on the Paul Ricard Circuit!
