Ayumu Iwasa on pole position for last
Last qualifying session of the season for the young F2 drivers. The times came down to the final moments. Ayumu Iwasa was fastest, ahead of team-mate Roy Nissany and Théo Pourchaire. It's a French hat-trick.

From the first lap, Jack Doohan, the man of the year in terms of qualifications, sets the best provisional time. Théo Pourchaire is just behind the Virtuosi driver.
Marino Sato, the other Virtuosi driver, loses control of his car in the corner under the hotel. Stalled car, red flags…
The lap times were really improved at the very end of the session. We thought we would see a pole position from the French driver Théo Pourchaire when we saw the yellow flag in sector 3. In the end, two other French cars beat him to it, with Ayumu Iwasa setting the fastest time (1.36.290) ahead of his teammate Roy Nissany (+0.036) and Théo Pourchaire (+0.082).
However, the spins of Dams’ Iwasa and Nissany were done under yellow flags with rookie Zane Maloney’s spin.
Normally both Dams drivers had successfully taken turn 9 (where Maloney spun out) before the yellow flag was shown.
Felipe Drugovich, still sticking close to Théo Pourchaire with his fourth fastest time. Following behind are: Jack Doohan, Logan Sargeant, Dennis Hauger, Amaury Cordeel, Liam Lawson, and Richard Verschoor.
See you tomorrow for the sprint race!
