Victor Martins admits to having a discussion with Théo Pourchaire after Monaco
F2 driver Victor Martins will seek performance during the race in Barcelona this weekend. He is feeling confident but admits to having discussed with his teammate Théo Pourchaire after the race in Monaco last week.

For the F2 race in Barcelona this weekend, Victor Martins plans to once again go for performance. “I have always been performing since the beginning of the season, we are ready,” he said in an interview with Motors Inside. “A few weeks ago, we did a test that went well. We were able to work on the car and test some things.”
The French driver also highlights his performance in previous races. “We have always been fast, whether it’s in qualifying or racing, now we just need to convert it into results.” I still have to score the points that I ‘deserve’ based on the performance I show. The points I am currently scoring are not at all in line with what I could truly achieve.
Could the redesigned circuit with the last corner help him to achieve his goals, precisely? It can change in terms of the car’s configuration, he explains. Previously, it was a slow section, perhaps the only one on the circuit, whereas now we have two fast corners. It changes our approach, the tire degradation during the race, and also the preparation for qualifying, managing tires, brakes, and traffic. But since we are last in the pit lane, we will be the first on the track, so we shouldn’t have any tire overheating problems. And besides, I really like fast corners, so I should enjoy it. He hopes that the new layout will be advantageous for him.
« Everything is flat with Théo »
We also revisited the race in Monaco, during which Victor Martins fiercely defended against his teammate Théo Pourchaire. According to some media, the latter reportedly stated that he felt he could be more aggressive with Victor Martins on the track. The main person involved does not deny it and admits that they spoke about it honestly. We try to be open to discussion, to know what we could have done better as a team and as drivers in this situation.
“It’s for sure that it was close (in the race), but it’s auto racing, we talked about being in front of each other so there’s aggression,” he adds. “But we recognize our faults and our reasons in both directions. We’ve always worked well together, the relationship is good, we just need to talk, to communicate, everything is cleared up,” reassures the ART driver.
