Here is an update on the F2 ranking after the Hungary race

Jack Doohan was impressive, and he was definitely the one we didn’t expect to perform at this level. After a disappointing start to the championship, he had a perfect weekend and made a leap forward in the standings. He is now 5th, just 5 points behind Victor Martins. However, it is the top 3 who are in the best position to compete for the title.

Fred Vesti, Théo Pourchaire, and Ayumu Iwasa are the top 3 favorites for the Formula 2 championship title. This weekend, Vesti increased his lead over Théo Pourchaire after a mistake by the French driver in the main race. The Danish driver now has an 11-point advantage over the Sauber academy’s French driver. A small margin, but one that is significant.

Ayumu Iwasa is in 3rd position with a small points gap, but the Japanese driver is quiet and remains close to his rivals. He is only 10 points behind Pourchaire and 21 behind Vesti. There are still 3 races for these men to fight for a single trophy and perhaps a spot in Formula 1.

A little further back, gaps have widened after Hungary, and some drivers have definitely bid farewell to the Formula 2 title. However, there are still three who can hope. They are Victor Martins, Jack Doohan, and Oliver Bearman. Currently in 4th, 5th, and 6th positions respectively, these three drivers can still realistically consider the title, especially if the drivers ahead of them in the championship encounter problems. Martins is 48 points behind Vesti, Doohan 53, and Bearman 59.

There are 3 appointments left to separate these men. Fred Vesti still seems to be the strongest among them and shows almost no weakness in this championship. But we must stay focused until the end, anything can still happen.
