Verschoor disqualified from the F2 sprint race, Pourchaire 2nd, Hauger 3rd
Following the non-compliance with the technical regulations regarding Richard Verschoor's car, the FIA has disqualified him from the F2 sprint race. Pourchaire and Hauger take advantage of this.
The FIA informs of the disqualification of Car 22 from the Race 1 Classification. All cars classified behind Car 22 move up one position. All lap times set by Car 22 during the race are cancelled. The point for the fastest lap must be reassigned.
The commissioners specified that the decision came from the « mapping » used during the warm-up lap.
« A mapping related to the accelerator must be used in Position 1, on the steering wheel, during the formation lap and race starts until the car reaches 50 km/h. Car 22 used a different position at the start of the race. »
The Stewards have determined that Car 22 was in violation of the Technical Regulations and is therefore disqualified from the results of Race 1.
Thanks to this disqualification, Théo Pourchaire moves up to second place on the podium and Dennis Hauger climbs to third. Victor Martins also gains one point in the championship by finishing fourth in this sprint race.
Verschoor having set the fastest lap in the race, the FIA must award an additional point to the driver who set the second fastest time.
