Formula 2 will welcome a new driver in its ranks for the 2024 season in the person of Zak O’Sullivan.
The British driver is the vice-champion of F3 in 2023 with the Prema Powerteam. For his entry into F2, the 18-year-old athlete will race for the French team ART Grand Prix.
“I am delighted to join ART Grand Prix for the 2024 FIA Formula 2 season,” he declared on his new team’s Twitter account. “The team has clearly demonstrated that they have all the qualities to win, so I am excited to begin. ART has already welcomed me very warmly. 2024 looks to be an exciting year, and I am ready to take on the challenge. I can’t wait to get started and I hope to have a great season.”
A full season
Arriving in F3 in 2021, O’Sullivan completed his second season in this category. During the 2023 season, the British driver accumulated 119 points, finishing 44 points behind the champion. Out of nine races, he failed to score points on three circuits. However, in 2023, Zak O’Sullivan won two races in F3, one at the Spielberg circuit in Austria, and another in Budapest. During the championship, the 18-year-old driver also won two sprints, the first one in Melbourne, followed by another one in Barcelona.
