Isack Hadjar leaves Hitech and joins Campos Racing for the F2 2024 season
After a first year in F2 with Hitech, the French driver will be racing for the Spanish team Campos in 2024. He will be partnered with Pepe Marti, who is also Spanish.
A successful first year in F2
Supported by the Red Bull junior program, Isack Hadjar renews for an additional year in F2. He joins Campos, who finished 9th in the constructor championship in 2023, one place lower than his former team, Hitech.
He had moved up to F2 after a successful 2021 season in F3 (finishing 4th, he was in the title race until the last weekend). This year, in his first season in F2, the 19-year-old driver achieved some impressive performances and made some nice overtakes that must have pleased Helmut Marko, the head of Red Bull’s young driver program. He finished the season in 14th place in the driver’s championship with 51 points. He secured his first podium at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, following Clément Novalak’s disqualification in the sprint race.
The French driver is thrilled about this new opportunity: « I’m really excited to start working with the team! I now have experience in the FIA F2 Championship, and with the potential and capabilities of Campos Racing, we can reach a very high level! »
A promising duo at Campos
Pepe Marti, 19 years old, will be his teammate, coming from 2 seasons in F3, with his last season being successful. He notably achieved 3 victories, secured 4 podium finishes, and finished 5th in the driver’s championship.
« It’s a dream come true to step into Formula 2, it’s another step in my journey and in my learning process to eventually reach Formula 1 in the future. Additionally, with Campos Racing, the team I have worked with throughout my single-seater career, it’s a very special opportunity to test here in Abu Dhabi and I’m excited to quickly learn and enjoy every lap! Thanks to the team, my parents, and the Red Bull Junior Team for making this possible, see you on Wednesday! »
