Best rookie of the 2023 Formula 2 season, Frenchman Victor Martins will continue with the ART GP team for a second season. A member of the Alpine young driver academy, he expressed his excitement on the official Formula 2 website when announcing his ambitions for the 2024 season.

« With ART Grand Prix, we share a common history filled with passion and success, » Martins stated. « A history that has seen the crowning of several titles, and I hope to add another one in 2024, which is a decisive season for my development. »

« But I won’t only have my eyes on the standings. I want to correct the mistakes from last year, manage the championship race by race, and always strive for the best possible result, whether the circumstances are favorable or challenging, » he added.

« There is no shortage of serious competitors in this discipline. There are also uncertainties with a new car, but I trust ART Grand Prix to make the most of it. The team provides me with all the support I need, just like Alpine, and I have all the cards necessary to achieve my goals. »

ART GP team director Sébastien Philippe expressed a similar sentiment to Martins. He stated that the team’s aim for this year is to retain the two titles they won last season.

« Our collaboration between ART Grand Prix and Victor dates back to 2020 when he successfully became the Formula Renault champion, » Philippe said. « We have worked well and grown together since then. »

« Therefore, I never considered not continuing our journey with him. His first year in Formula 2 was very good and very instructive. It allowed him to consistently fight for pole positions and victories. In 2024, our common goal will logically be to erase all the small errors from last season and win the championship, » he concluded.

In 2024, Victor Martins will be supported at ART GP by the vice-champion of the 2023 Formula 3 season, British driver Zak O’Sullivan, a member of the Williams Driver Academy.
