F2 sprint race: Victor Martins wins, alone in his own league
After taking the lead even before the first corner, thanks to an excellent start, Victor Martins won the F2 sprint race in Spain. Isack Hadjar finished seventh.

Second in the sprint race, Victor Martins made an excellent start and took the lead from Kush Maini before the first turn. Ritomo Miyata moved from fourth to second place, while the poleman dropped to third position. Starting from 11th, Isack Hadjar moved up to 8th place at the start of the sprint race. Paul Iron is also one of the big winners at the start: he managed to weave through several single-seaters to move from P10 to P6.
In the fourth lap, Miyata dangerously closes in on the back of Martins, but he can’t find a way to make a move in turn 1. Hadjar tries the same move with Kimi Antonelli for P7 but the PREMA Racing driver closes the door. Victor Martins improves his first sector, still out of reach for Miyata. The battle intensifies between Hadjar and Antonelli, but the Italian holds his ground.
15th at the start, Oliver Bearman dropped to 18th place. He took part in Free Practice 1 in F1 on Friday in Nico Hülkenberg’s cockpit. A few laps later, he falls to the last position in the pack. He seems to be struggling a lot with his car.
After knocking on the door since the beginning of the race, Isack Hadjar makes a very good overtake on Kimi Antonelli, who falls to 9th position behind Jak Crawford. Bearman’s teammate is also struggling. At the front, Victor Martins widens the gap to more than one second with his pursuer. Stanek incurs a 5-second penalty, while he is already in 19th place. Miyata also incurs a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits one time too many. This jeopardizes his hopes of stepping onto the podium…
We are getting closer to the end of this sprint race, and on lap 20, Correa is trying to overtake Bortoleto for third place, while the Invicta driver slides in the corners. Unfortunately, Crawford overtook Hadjar for seventh place, while Hauger squeezed between the Frenchman and Antonelli.
We are approaching the final lap and Correa manages to climb to the third position to step onto the podium. The checkered flag waves and Victor Martins wins this sprint, never worried throughout the race. Maini takes second place, thanks to Miyata’s penalty, ahead of Correa. Isack Hadjar finishes seventh, a nice little comeback, also benefiting from Miyata’s penalty.
