The Formula 2 will be back in 2 months, for the Qatar Grand Prix

Following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Joshua Dürksen won the sprint race and Richard Verschoor won the feature race, we will have to wait almost two months to follow the next race which will take place in Losail, a newcomer to the F2 calendar. This is the opportunity for us to introduce you to this circuit where speed is king.

We will have to wait two months before we see Isack Hadjar, Victor Martins, or Kimi Antonelli back behind the wheel of their F2 car. After a tumultuous Grand Prix of Azerbaijan, where Victor Martins finished second in a disrupted race, Isack Hadjar lost the lead in the championship. The driver standings now see Bortoleto at the top, with just a 4.5-point lead over Hadjar. With only two Grand Prix races remaining, the end of the season promises to be thrilling.

The next race weekend will take place from November 29th to December 1st at Losail in Qatar. Present on the F1 calendar since 2021, replacing the Australian Grand Prix and regularly since 2023, it is now the turn of the F2 to visit the Losail International Circuit for the first time.

Losail Circuit

With a length of 5,380 km, this track has sixteen turns and a main straight that is just over a kilometer long. Speed reigns supreme on this layout, which is generally demanding for drivers. Last year, Formula 1 drivers had never seemed so exhausted after a race.

Several factors explained such a state of fatigue: many turns with significant G force, extreme heat, and a lot of humidity.

Losail is reminiscent of Singapore when it comes to the constraints imposed on drivers. The choice to include this track in the F2 calendar therefore seems to be strategic, as it allows young talents to prepare for the extreme conditions they will encounter when they reach Formula 1.

However, we will have to wait before finding these young drivers for the penultimate meeting of a season that is keeping all its promises. In the meantime, focus on the Singapore F1 Grand Prix this weekend.
