Monaco: Formula E will use a shorter circuit than F1
The Monaco ePrix of Formula E will not use the same track as the legendary Monaco Grand Prix of Formula 1. The drivers of the electric championship will use a shorter track.

Formula E will head to the Principality of Monaco on May 9th for the first ePrix held on European soil, but the all-electric single-seaters will not drive on the same circuit used by Formula 1. Instead, the drivers will take on a shorter track.
The 1.93-kilometer layout – compared to 3.34 km for the F1 track – does not include the Sainte-Dévote climb or the tunnel because at the first corner used by F1, the Formula E cars will turn more to the right to head towards the harbor and then take the Piscine chicane and Rascasse, see the track plan below.

The promoter of Formula E, Alejandro Agag, also revealed that Monaco should not be on the calendar for the second season because the ePrix takes place at the same time as the historic Monaco Grand Prix and the organizers are looking for a city to replace the Principality, which could be Paris: « We are in discussions on which I cannot give details. I am very optimistic about having a race in Paris for the second season, and if we can have a race in Paris, I would like that race to be the first of the season. »
