Prost savors “a perfect day” in Miami

Since the beginning of the season, Nicolas Prost has been one of the most successful drivers on the grid, notably with two pole positions and a second place. In Miami, the Frenchman clinched his first victory in the category, also the first for a French driver.

Starting from the second position on the grid due to Nelson Piquet Jr’s penalty, Nicolas Prost had lost a position to Sam Bird, but that didn’t worry him.

Thanks to a perfectly managed stop, the Frenchman found himself in second position behind Daniel Abt. With two laps to go, Prost took the lead from the German to race towards his first victory in Formula E, not without having resisted Scott Speed’s attacks on the final lap.

« It was a perfect day, » Prost rejoiced. « First, a big thank you to the team who provided me with a very efficient car from start to finish and an excellent strategy. I was particularly happy with my qualification, achieved on a track that was not yet clean. Then, the race went smoothly, and we managed the consumption well to be able to attack at the end. »

A victory that doesn’t come alone for the e.dams driver, as after five races, he holds the top position in the championship with 67 points, seven more than his runner-up, Lucas di Grassi, much to the delight of his father and e.dams co-founder, Alain Prost.

“I’m very happy and very proud, both for Nicolas and for the team,” explains Alain Prost. “This victory was well-deserved, especially today at the end of his best race of the season. It reflects the collective work, to which I associate, of course, Sébastien [Buemi], who unfortunately experienced some technical issues. The championship is still long, but we will fight to defend our positions until the end.”
