For the next Formula E ePrix, which will take place in Long Beach on April 4th, drivers will exceptionally have three practice sessions of 25 minutes each to prepare for the qualifications and then the race, instead of the usual two practice sessions.

The decision was made considering the layout of the circuit and the location of the paddock in relation to the track. The Formula E sporting director, Benoit Dupont, explained this decision: « At Long Beach, we use part of the IndyCar circuit along Shoreline Drive and a similar pit lane with garages in another paddock. To maximize charging time and allow teams more time to manage their cars between sessions, we have altered the schedule to include three shorter sessions. »

The schedule for the Formula E Long Beach ePrix this Saturday will be as follows:

4:15 PM – 4:40 PM: Free Practice 1

5:25 PM – 5:50 PM: Free Practice 2

6:35 PM – 7:00 PM: Free Practice 3

8:00 PM – 8:55 PM: Qualifications

00:00 – Race (39 laps)
