Moscow ePrix – Qualifications: Vergne takes pole position
Jean-Eric Vergne secured pole position during the qualifying session of the Moscow Formula E ePrix. The French driver will start from the first place on the grid ahead of three title contenders: Nelson Piquet Jr, Lucas di Grassi, and Sébastien Buemi.

This weekend, the Formula E paddock meets in Moscow on a circuit traced around the Kremlin, a stronghold of the Russian capital. On a new track for all the drivers, Jean-Eric Vergne (Andretti) managed to stand out by setting the fastest time in the qualifying session.
The French driver, 2nd in FP2, was the fastest in qualifying, securing his 3rd pole position of the season with a bit of luck, following a contact with the wall at the exit of the last corner of his flying lap.
He will start ahead of the three title favorites Nelson Piquet Jr (NEXTEV TCR), Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport ABT), and Sébastien Buemi (e.dams-Renault). Winner of the last race, Jérôme d’Ambrosio will start from 5th place.
Nicolas Prost, Daniel Abt, Nick Heidfeld, Jarno Trulli – pole setter in Berlin during the last round, and Stéphane Sarrazin complete the top 10.
For his first appearance in Formula E, Justin Wilson (Andretti) will start from the 13th position on the grid, a satisfactory result for the Briton even though he is nearly a second behind his teammate, Vergne.
