The 2016 Formula E season will start later in China
The 2016 Formula E season will start in China, but a month later. Alejandro Agag, the CEO of Formula E, reflected on the interest of delaying the start of the season.

The second season of Formula E will begin in October in Beijing, China, one month later than the start of the first Formula E season. The Chinese metropolis had already hosted the inaugural race of the all-electric championship last September, after a ten-week break due to the cancellation of the ePrix in Brazil.
In the next ten days, the schedule for this season will be released for the 2015-2016 season; the start of the season will be on October 17th. Alejandro Agag, the CEO of Formula E, expressed on the site of *Autosport*: « We want to shorten the calendar, so we are going to start in October. And we want to give a little more time for the manufacturers so they can refine their engines. That’s why we’re starting in October ».
The schedule for the 2016 season should not change much compared to the 2015 schedule. However, the race in Uruguay and the one in Long Beach, USA, are expected to disappear. According to information from Autosport, an ePrix will take place in Mexico and in Paris. As for the last ePrix of the 2016 season, it is expected to take place in April.
Pre-season tests will take place in England at the Donington Park circuit, with three two-day sessions scheduled for August.
The 2016 Formula E season is finally expected to keep the same format as this season during the last race, which will take place in London on June 27th and 28th with a double race. Alejandro Agag explains this more particular format: « We are looking to have more. Obviously, to have a double race, you need to generate interest among the public, so we need to fill the stands for these 2 days. For the London ePrix, we see that we are selling a lot of tickets. So, I think the experience shows that it might be wise to have an additional race during this weekend ».
