Beijing ePrix is postponed
The start of the second season of Formula E is postponed by a week due to logistical constraints in the Chinese capital. The first ePrix of the season will therefore take place on October 24.

Formula E based its concept on holding its events in the city centers of major metropolises to be as close as possible to the public. However, this can pose the disadvantage of conflicting with other events taking place in the same area.
Thus, on the weekend of October 17, when it was initially planned, another event is scheduled in the Beijing Olympic Park. The local authorities then judged that the security of the regime’s dignitaries could not be ensured since the layout of the urban circuit passes precisely at the foot of the famous Bird’s Nest.
It has therefore been decided to postpone the event by one week, as explained by Alejandro Agag, the CEO of the championship: « Even though it is unfortunate that the date of the first race has to be moved by one week, we understand the logistical difficulties of other events. With our partners and the authorities, we have therefore decided that it would be better to postpone our race by one week. »
The new schedule is as follows:
October 24, 2015 – Beijing
November 7, 2015 – Putrajaya
December 19, 2015 – Punta del Este
