Panasonic Jaguar Racing back in single-seater class
Part one of our preview of the teams and drivers for the 2016/2017 Formula E season, which kicks off on October 9 on the streets of Hong Kong with the new Jaguar team.

The British team Jaguar is part of the Tata group, owner of the brand. For its debut in Formula E, the structure is partnering with high-tech equipment brand Panasonic. The Team Manager will be James Barclay. The stated ambitions are quite high, even though the team is starting from scratch and has chosen drivers without experience in the discipline. The first season will certainly be a learning season, but at what level?

Adam Carroll: The 33-year-old Northern Irish driver will begin his first season in Formula E after being the third driver for the Mahindra and Amelin Aguri teams for the 2015/2016 season. His track record includes winning the A1 Grand Prix in 2008/2009 and he has raced in numerous single-seater categories. His schedule this year is complemented by a WEC program in LMGTE Am with Porsche. His debut, coupled with that of his team, should present a challenging acclimatization phase, but his experience in single-seaters and Formula E should help him to become competitive quickly. This will largely depend on Jaguar’s ability to adapt to this very specific championship.
Mitch Evans: The 22-year-old New Zealander – protégé of Mark Webber – will also make his debut in Formula E this season with the new British team. He is a great specialist in single-seaters, having won the GP3 championship in 2012 and participated in several GP2 seasons. Additionally, he secured a second place in LMP2 at Le Mans. There is no doubt that he will adapt easily to the championship as he is currently racing in single-seaters in GP2 and ELMS (European Le Mans Series). However, like his teammate, he will need to be evaluated in relation to the competitiveness of his single-seater.
We all share in a single @FIAformulaE vision: to excite, to thrill and to lead the charge. #JaguarElectrifies pic.twitter.com/7mYe9eDLfy
