Stéphane Sarrazin will test the second-generation single-seater.

The Frenchman who participated in three seasons in Formula E with Venturi and then Techeetah at the end of last season, will actively participate in testing the future single-seater for next season. Sarrazin will take over from Benoit Treluyer, Adrien Tambay, Frederic Makowiecki, and Anthoine Hubert, who started the initial tests since September. Two two-day test sessions mainly dedicated to qualifying laps are currently planned, the first at Monteblanco in Spain and the second at Calafat, also in Spain. This will, in any case, allow Stéphane Sarrazin to maintain contact with Formula E after being replaced at Techeetah by André Lotterer for this season.

CBMM will sponsor the Punta del Este and Rome ePrix:

The company specializing in the production of niobium, CBMM, will become the sponsor of the Punta del Este and Rome races, which will take place on March 17 and April 14. This material is used in the automotive industry and by Formula E to manufacture batteries, powertrains, chassis, and even wheels. It is almost certain that this sponsorship contract will have further developments given the company’s major role in the electric industry and in the very design of Formula E single-seaters.

February 14 obliges:

Formula E will keep grid girls:

Alejandro Agag announced that while Formula 1 will part ways with grid girls starting next season, Formula E will continue to use them at certain races. However, this will not prevent the discipline from involving local children who race in smaller categories at other events. This principle has been adopted by Formula 1 to be implemented in 2018.

Dragon hires Mike Gascoyne as a consultant:

Dragon Racing’s team has announced that they will be hiring Mike Gascoyne as a design consultant for the upcoming season, where this aspect will have growing importance. The designer is no stranger to the world of Formula 1, having worked for numerous teams. He began at Tyrrell in the 1990s and then collaborated with McLaren, Sauber, Jordan, and Caterham. The Brit also held the position of technical director at Renault and Toyota. Gascoyne will not be working alone, as his company MGI Consulting, which he founded in 2003 and is located in Oxford, is already actively working with the Donington Park factory and the Californian design office of Maduit.

Join us now on March 3rd for the third Mexico ePrix at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
