Mercedes presents its first Formula E
The livery of Mercedes' first Formula E car was unveiled today. The German team will make its debut in the discipline in the next season.

Mercedes had confirmed a few months ago its arrival as a manufacturer in Formula E. We now know what the brand’s first electric single-seater will look like, and its name.
This conceptual livery is very futuristic. Predominantly black, the car is crossed with blue lines likely meant to evoke electricity. As seen on the W09, the same Mercedes stars adorn the rear of the car. Named “Mercedes-Benz EQ Silver Arrow 01,” the new toy from the German brand is highly anticipated following its successes in Formula 1 and DTM. The livery might be revised for the start of the 2019/2020 season.
Mercedes was able, however, to get a taste of the electric discipline thanks to the HWA Racelab team, which aims to prepare them in this ever-expanding competition.
It should be noted that the residents of Stuttgart will also see their second manufacturer, Porsche, make its debut in Formula E. It will be interesting to see which of the two German teams fares better.
Toto Wolff declares: In motorsport as in all other fields, we want to be the benchmark in the premium segment and explore new innovative projects. The combination between Formula 1 and Formula E offers new possibilities. Formula E is like a kind of start-up for us: it allows a new format to promote current and future technologies.
