Brendon Hartley back in a single-seater!
Geox Dragon has announced that Brendon Hartley, a former Toro Rosso driver in Formula 1, will be part of the team for the 6th season of Formula E.

Brendon Hartley adds a new string to his bow! After being crowned WEC champion in 2014 and 2017, the New Zealander participated in the premier category of motorsport with Toro Rosso, unfortunately without much success, and now he is turning to Formula E.
Like many former Formula 1 drivers, such as Felipe Massa, Stoffel Vandoorne, Sebastian Buemi, and Jean-Eric Vergne, Brendon Hartley will join the ranks of Formula E. A discipline that is on the rise and has allowed many drivers to restore their image or simply continue their career in motorsports, specifically in single-seaters.
While the winner of the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans had been hired by Porsche to prepare as a development driver for the German manufacturer’s entry into Formula E, he was seen as a logical candidate for a full-time position. Ultimately, the Stuttgart team did not choose him, and the former Red Bull recruit has moved on to the American team Geox Dragon.
« I am happy to take on a new challenge in Formula E with GEOX DRAGON. Formula E is completely different from all other racing series in which I have participated, but I hope that my experience in many categories in energy management will pay dividends and give me an edge as a rookie. »
At the beginning of 2019, Ferrari announced Hartley as a development driver. An experience within the Scuderia that can only be beneficial for the rest of his career. He was also announced as the future replacement for Fernando Alonso at Toyota in the WEC. It can be said that the ‘Kiwi’ is unlikely to get bored.
