The new team Kiro Race Co unveils its livery for season 11
With its new American owners, the former ERT team plans to move up a notch and get closer to the leading teams.
After competing in the first ten seasons of Formula E under the Chinese flag, the team that allowed Nelson Piquet Jr to become the first champion of the discipline will now fly the American flag.
Acquired by the investment company The Forest Road Company, the former ERT team for Electric Racing Technology has unveiled a bright yellow livery with black accents where the new team name appears in several places on the single-seater.
For a long time supported by the Chinese manufacturer Nio, the team based in Silverstone won two races in its history, both thanks to Piquet Jr during the 1st season of the Formula E championship, in Long Beach and Moscow. Last season, ERT scored only 23 points, finishing in last place in the team championship.
To make progress in the pack, the new owners have signed a technical partnership with Porsche for the supply of the powertrain. It is this technology that has allowed Jake Dennis and Pascal Wehrlein to be crowned in the last two seasons. Note that the two American teams on the grid, Kiro Race Co and Andretti, will have a Porsche engine.
On the pilots’ side, nothing has been announced. Dan Ticktum and Sergio Sette Camara are probably eagerly waiting to know if they will continue the adventure together for this first year of the Gen3 EVO.
