An orange papaya and black livery for McLaren in Formula E
The British team unveiled the colors of its single-seater for the 11th season of Formula E, which will be its third in this championship.

Present in Formula E since 2023, McLaren is preparing to compete in its third season in the Electric Formula championship. A season that will see the arrival of the Gen3 Evo single-seaters that will be faster, more efficient, and for the first time four-wheel drive.
A little over a month before the first race of season 11, which will take place in Sao Paulo on December 7, the team based in Woking unveiled the livery of its new single-seater, which features the traditional papaya orange color, as well as black here in a tiger-striped form.
Last season, McLaren finished seventh in the team championship with the highlight being Sam Bird’s victory in Brazil, to which Jake Hughes added a podium in Shanghai.
If Bird signs up for a second season with the team led by Ian James, Hughes is heading to Maserati. He will be replaced by Taylor Barnard who has already raced three times with McLaren last season to compensate for Bird’s absence due to injury.
« Our livery for the upcoming Formula E season is a demonstration of the evolution of the Neom McLaren team over the past two seasons,” James commented during the presentation of the new single-seater. « The team has worked hard to build on what we have already learned. I am really looking forward to seeing the team in action with the new livery,” he added.
Present in FE since season 1, Bird now considers McLaren as his new family:
« I can’t wait to start my second season with McLaren. This team has become like a family to me and I think we can achieve great things. We did good work in our first season together. Now it’s time to build and create beautiful memories for my second year with the team.
In his first year as a full-time Formula E driver, his teammate Taylor Barnard is excited to embark on this new chapter of his career:
« I am delighted to be driving for McLaren in Season 11 of Formula E. As a reserve driver last season, I learned a lot by putting my knowledge into practice during the races in Monaco and Berlin. I am excited to be driving alongside Sam Bird, who is one of the most experienced drivers on the grid, and I hope that together we can score as many points as possible for the team.
See you on December 7th to witness this duo of drivers combining youth and experience in action.
