Pre-season testing Season 11 – Day 1: Antonio Felix da Costa and Porsche kick off the proceedings
Behind the wheel of his Porsche, the Portuguese driver set the fastest time of the first official pre-season testing day in Madrid.

The Gen3 Evo single-seaters hit the track at the Jarama circuit north of the Spanish capital for a first day of testing with track time allowed only in the afternoon. All eyes were on these new cars capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds. In great form at the end of last season, it was Antonio Felix da Costa who set the fastest time in 1m29.220s.
At the wheel of his official Porsche, the Portuguese driver outpaced the Andretti Porsche of Jake Dennis and the new DS Penske driver Maximilian Günther. Edoardo Mortara placed his Mahindra in fourth place while Stoffel Vandoorne completed the top 5 for his first official laps with Maserati. Defending champion Pascal Wehlein finished this session in eighth place.
It is worth noting that only 18 drivers took part in this first day of testing. Due to a slight exceed in their respective budget, Jaguar and Nissan were given a half-day suspension from testing, which both teams applied on this first day. Mitch Evans, Nick Cassidy, Oliver Rowland, and Norman Nato will be able to test their single-seater on the second day, which will be divided into two parts, a session in the morning and another one in the afternoon.
