Pre-season tests Season 11 – Day 2: Best time for Maximilian Günther and DS Penske
The German driver placed his DS Penske at the top of the timesheets at the Jarama circuit near Madrid, as part of the second day of preparatory tests for season 11 of Formula E.

Already third on the first day of testing, Maximilian Günther seems comfortable behind the wheel of his new single-seater from the DS Penske team. With a best lap time of 1m28.40s, he succeeded Jake Hughes, the morning’s fastest on his Maserati, at the top of the timesheet.
The Stellantis engines were in good shape today as Günther’s teammate, Jean-Eric Vergne, finished third. Between the two DS E-TENSE FE25 cars is the Kiro Race Co with a Porsche engine driven by Dan Ticktum. The Englishman is two positions ahead of his teammate, David Beckmann. However, the latter has not yet been officially confirmed for the upcoming FE season.
With the fifth and sixth times of this session, Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara’s Mahindra presented themselves as the third force on the grid with interesting performances. The Indian team aims to do better than its disappointing 10th place in the team championship last season.
Absent yesterday due to a penalty for exceeding the budget limit, the Jaguar and Nissan teams were back on track. Nick Cassidy set the 7th fastest time and his teammate Mitch Evans the 10th. A more discreet day for the Japanese team with the 12th and 17th times of Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato.
Finally, we must note the great performance of the rookie Zane Maloney. Behind the wheel of his Lola Yamaha ABT, the Barbadian driver finished 8th, one place ahead of the Season 9 champion Jake Dennis.
The tests will continue tomorrow at the Jarama circuit with again a session in the morning and one in the afternoon.
