The testing sessions continue at Jarama and the teams are continuing to fine-tune their new single-seaters. The program for this third day of testing includes a session in the morning and a second session in the afternoon dedicated to race simulations.

In the morning, it was the driver of the new team Kiro Race Co, David Beckmann, who set the fastest time. The German driver, whose presence on the grid for the season opener in São Paulo in just a month is still uncertain, has nonetheless garnered some good publicity. Behind the wheel of his bright neon yellow single-seater, he led a Porsche engine one-two-three with the drivers from the official team in second and third positions, Pascal Wehrlein ahead of Antonio Felix da Costa.

Best time yesterday, Maximilian Günther continues to drive at a high pace with his DS Penske by setting the fourth fastest lap. With Jake Hughes fifth on Maserati and Jean-Eric Vergne tenth, the Stellantis powertrain group is showing that it will be a force to be reckoned with this season.

The lap times were not improved in the afternoon during the race simulations. At the end of this second practice session of the day, it was Nyck de Vries’ Mahindra that ended up at the top of the timesheets ahead of Mitch Evans’ Jaguar and his teammate Edoardo Mortara’s car. The drivers of the Indian team have been in good shape since the beginning of the week in Spain.

Now, there is only half a day of testing left for all drivers to perfect their preparation before the start of the new FE season. In the afternoon, there will be a session reserved for female drivers, including the presence of the French driver Lilou Wadoux at Jaguar, and the current leader of the F1 Academy, Abbi Pulling, at Nissan.
