Max Chilton finds refuge with Nissan in LMP1
Following the financial problems of the Marussia team, Max Chilton has decided to temporarily step away from Formula 1.

After conducting Indy Lights tests for Team Carlin, the Briton has finally found a place with Nissan in LMP1. He will compete in the entire FIA WEC championship at the wheel of the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo.
« I am honored to join such a prestigious manufacturer as Nissan in a championship that is growing in importance, explains Chilton. « Le Mans is a very popular event, and racing there as a factory driver is a dream come true. »
After two years at the back of the grid in Formula 1 with Marussia, Chilton will attempt to compete with the best in the FIA WEC. While Nissan has already announced the names of its six drivers for the entire season, the Japanese manufacturer will later specify the lineup of its crews for the No. 22 and No. 23 cars.
« My goal has always been to race at the highest level, and the technology found in the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo is as impressive as that in a Formula 1, added Chilton. « After meeting the team, witnessing their dedication to their work and their desire to win, I am really looking forward to hitting the track. »
Nissan took the opportunity to announce its ninth and final driver, the British Alex Buncombe. He will be lined up in car No. 21 alongside Tsugio Matsuda and Luca Ordonez.
