The Peugeot Hypercar unveiled, here is the futuristic 9X8
The iconic French manufacturer makes its big comeback in the world of motor racing by unveiling its Hypercar, cementing its commitment to endurance.

July 6, 2021 will remain a key date in the history of the lion brand, after its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1992, 1993, and 2009, the French brand confirms its participation in the FIA WEC championship. Peugeot and its Hypercar will have a tough job, their competitors in the coming years will be Toyota, Glickenhaus, ByKolles, and Ferrari. In 2023, other major names in motorsport are expected to join the LMDh category, such as Audi, BMW, Porsche, and Acura.
The lion brand had already announced the drivers who will participate in the Peugeot Sport program in WEC, very experienced drivers: Jean-Eric Vergne, Kevin Magnussen, Paul Di Resta, Loïc Duval, Mikkel Jansen, Gustavo Menezes, and finally James Rossiter as reserve driver.

The beast will be powered by a hybrid powertrain coupled with a 2.6-liter 680 hp bi-turbo V6 engine and an additional 272 hp electric motor on the front axle. In total, and in accordance with regulations, the French Hypercar will produce 680 horsepower or 500 kW.

The Peugeot 9X8 should take its first steps by the end of the year, launching its preparation and development program with the goal of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
