It’s a historic moment that spectators will be able to experience on Saturday, June 11, just moments before the start of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Gérard Larousse, who is also the Grand Marshal of the 2022 edition, along with Henri Pescarolo, will be behind the wheel of two Matra cars.

This event will obviously be a nod to the French brand’s epic journey, which won the 24 Hours three times in a row. In 1972 with Graham Hill and Henri Pescarolo, in 1973 with Henri Pescarolo and Gérard Larousse, before this duo also won the 1974 edition.

The former sports director of Renault, during his first stint in Formula 1, will have the honor of driving the leading car that will lead the group of drivers to the starting line in the formation lap.
